Located in Serranía de la Macarena National Park, Caño Cristales is internationally celebrated as the “River of Five Colors”. Between June and November, the native aquatic plant Macarenia clavigera blooms beneath the clear water, transforming the river into a vibrant liquid rainbow of red, yellow, green, and blue. Guided hikes lead travelers along regulated trails such as Los Pianos and Salto del Águila, complemented by boat navigation on the Guayabero River, 4×4 savanna exploration, and authentic plains gastronomy.
